We did not
fish today but we were on the river
yesterday. We went 3 for 4 with the
biggest fishing being 12lbs. The river
is in great shape and the rain we are
supposed to get this Wed should only help
the river rather than hurt it. It
definitely looks like a banner steelhead
season ahead so be sure to book your trips
early to ensure you get the dates you want.
Have a Happy & Safe New Year!

Report: Happy New Year's on the Smith!
We hit the
river this morning and found a bigger than
expected and mildly brown Smith River.
None the less we had a great day going 2 for
3 with the largest a hen running 15lbs.
I expect the river will be in perfect
condition tomorrow morning and should fish
GREAT! We will have a report for you
as we move into the holiday weekend.

Report: Happy Holidays!
I want to apologize for the
lack of reports for the last several months.
I had been fishing very intermittently while
attempting to rebuild my home from the
ground up after a little accident demolished
it back in August. However, now with
my home complete just in time for the
holidays I will be back on the river full
time beginning December 29. It looks
like we are going to have another banner
year on the North coast rivers if the early
action we have been seeing continues.
If you are looking to fish the North coast
rivers start booking your trips now as the
dates are starting to fill up fast!
Take
care and have a Happy Holiday Season!

Report: Krazy Klamath!
We were out
the last two days and caught 20+ fish each
day with a mix of Jack's, Adult's and
Steelhead in that order. We have had a
couple adults in the 20LB range that were
dime bright and reel burners. One of
our fisherman this weekend had never caught
a fish and needless to say he can't say that
anymore! If you would like to see a
video of him catching his first fish click
here or check it out below. The weather is beautiful with
temps in the 70's and bright blue sky.
If you are looking to have some fun like the
pictures below illustrate then give us a
call and come fish the Krazy Klamath.
Remember, I am
offering a special for a two day booking
with 3 or more anglers
25% off the second day fishing for catch &
release fishing on the Klamath & Trinity

Report: More of The Same!
More of the sam! We are catching fish
in every part of the river. Right now
we are seeing more and more adult salmon in
the river and they are ending up on our
lines! :) Most of the adults are
running 10 - 20 LBS and are dime bright and
hot and oh so fun to catch on spinning gear. We
will be on the Klamath through October
so book your dates now and enjoy some of the
best fishing the Klamath
has seen in a while. Remember, I am

Report: The Sure Thing!
If you come up right now to the Klamath for
a steelhead and salmon trip it's a SURE
THING! You will catch more fish than
you would probably ever want to in a day.
The last couple of days my clients have
gotten limits on jack salmon and hatchery
steelhead and released more than we could
count. There are only about five boats
on the river everyday so nobody is spooking
the fish and everyone is catching, catching,
catching! So, if you want to have some
fun give me a call and book a trip. We
will be on the Klamath through October
so book your dates now and enjoy some of the
best fishing the Klamath
has seen in a while. Remember, I am

Report: Klamath River Salmon & Steelhead
Everyone is knocking the socks off the
steelhead on the Klamath and we are starting
to see more and more salmon being
caught in the river. It seems like no
matter where you are in the river there are
fish so many that even the otters pictured
below are feasting on steelhead. We
will be fishing the Klamath through October
so book your dates now and enjoy some of the
best catch and release fishing the Klamath

Report: Klamath River Salmon & Steelhead
Due to low quotas for the keep of adult
Salmon, Guides will be scrambling this
season. Low quotas don’t necessarily mean
small runs of fish just poor data & some
really bad calls by our Gov. However; I will
not let this force me to go fish the Sac. I
have talked with a number of guides who are
pretty much bagging there season here on the
Klamath so they can pursue limits of adult
King Salmon for their customers. After
August 15th you
will only be able to keep two jacks “salmon
under 22 inches” & one fin clipped Steelhead
per person per day. For the remainder of the
season I will be
offering a special for a two day booking.
25% off the second day fishing for catch &
release fishing on the Klamath & Trinity
Rivers. The river at this time has a
good number of fish in the estuary. These
fish are circulating with the tides &
waiting for conditions to favor the long
journey up river. We are catching fish
trolling anchovy & herring rigs. A majority
of the adult fish being caught are 6 to 12
lbs. with a good number of jacks & adult
Steelhead

Report: Great Fishing!
I fished the 4th and had two other boats on the
water. We 4 for 5 with a single stick in
the boat. My two other boats Khevin
Mellegers who went 7 for 9 with two sticks in
the boat and smiling Brice Dusi who went 7 for 8
with one double hook-up with two sticks aboard.
90% of the fish were fresh with just a couple
downers in the mix. The river is looking awesome
as we come up to the Raider Derby this weekend
and hopefully the weather won't treat us too
badly.

Report: Back on the Smith!
Today we were back on the Smith with two boats
both going 3 for 5. The fish were 5 to
19lbs with two downers in the mix. The
weather is balmy and the river is dropping as we
went from 11' to 10.5'. We are seeing lots
of fresh fish as they move into the system after
all the weather that just passed. I anticipate
the coming weeks will be prime time on the Smith
and other Northcoast rivers as they come into
shape.

Kenny Armstrong

Report: There's a Fire in the South!
Today the Eel was on fire as we went 12 for 14
adults and a half dozen half pounders. Our
largest adult was 14lbs and only one of the
adults was a downer. The weather was
gorgeous just like the fishing however it looks
like that may change on Sunday. If we get
too much rain down South the river will be out
and I will head North as those rivers clear fast
and they need water to turn the fishing on once
again. However, keep your fingers crossed
that we just get enough rain to dirty the Eel up
just a little to make the catching that much
easier. If you are looking for some prime
steelhead fishing give us a call and we will put
you on the fish!

Kenny Armstrong

Report: Fun South Fork Style
After taking Tuesday off we were back on the Eel
river today and once again the river produced.
We went 4 for 6 with all of the fish being
chrome bright from the ocean and 10+ lb adults.
We also threw in 8+ half pounders to make it a
real fun and exciting day. If
you are looking for some fun give us a call and
we will get you out and put you on some
steelhead and maybe even throw in a blue bird
day if the weather cooperates.

Report: Fun South Fork Style
Monday was a fine day on the South Fork.
For the day we went 21 for 24 with 3 dime bright
fish in the 10+ lb range, 12 large and bright
downers and 6 of half pounders making for one
hell of a day for my anglers and me. Looks
like the river will continue to produce for
sometime with no weather in sight. So if
you are looking for some fun give us a call and
we will get you out for some steelhead fun!

Report: Southern Charm
After two tough days on the Smith with one rod
in the boat I decided to head South for a little
steelhead charm. Day one with one rod in
the boat we still had a tough day working the
river. We were up top because the put-ins were jammed with
other boats or not accessible in the lower runs. Day two was
another story, we were on the lower river and went 5 for 6 up to 17lbs
with three sticks in the boat. We had a
double with the two biggest fish of the day
which was about as exciting as it gets! I
will be fishing between the Northern rivers and
Southern for the rest of the season depending on
weather and which rivers are producing the most
consistently.

Kenny Armstrong

Report: Steelhead Fun For The Family!
Another beautiful day on the Chetco river with my
boat going 4 for 9. The rivers are
dropping into perfect shape and it looks like we
might run out of blue sky in the coming week.
Time to book a trip and get in on some of the
best steelhead fishing on the West coast.
Looks like I might be headed back to the Smith
tomorrow and see we can't stick some more steel
in the boat!

Report: Blue Sky Fishing on The Chetco!
Blue sky and Spring like conditions on the
Chetco today. We went 5 for 7 and had a
tremendous day of fishing. We are working
on closing out the week with beautifull weather
and good numbers of steelhead being caught.
If you have not been up on the North coast
rivers the next month an a half are prime time!
So book your trip now.

Report: Jackpot!
Another beautiful day on the Smith river with my
boat going 8 for 9. Most of the fish are
in the ten pound range and full of fight and the
river is just right. If you're looking to
fish the Smith or the Chetco in Spring like
conditions get up here now! I will be
fishing the Chetco tomorrow and expect the same
type of success I had on the Smith all week
long!!

Report: Getting Better Everyday!
Sunday the
river was still a little high but today we were
in the 13's and the river fished GREAT! We
went 2 for 4 on a blue bird day. Expect
the fishing only to get better everyday this
week with beautiful blue sky and Spring like
weather.

Report: River's A Little High But We're fishing
For The Next Week
Today the river fished but it was a little high
and dirty but dropped throughout the day.
We hooked two and got one 10 pounder in the boat with most
other guides scoring either 1 or no fish.
There appears to be some weather coming in tonight and we will have to see what damage it
does. However, the coming week is looking
like blue bird days and you can expect the
fishing will be DYNAMITE!!!

Report: Blown Today - Fishing Tomorrow
The Northcoast rivers blew out overnight making
them unfishable today. However, it looks
like we will be back on the Smith tomorrow.
Even though there's rain forecasted throughout
the week we should be able to fish the Smith
unless we get some torrential downpours but that
does not appear that will be the case.
Expect some big numbers when we do get back on
the river and have a break in the weather.
Thanks,
Kenny Armstrong

Report: Smith River Steelhead
We were back on the Smith today because the
Chetco looked like it would blow out but it did
not and there were some big numbers posted once
again. The Smith also produced well as we
boated 10 fish today up to 14 lbs and had a
chance at a half dozen more that would not
stick. If you are looking to fish the Chetco or the Smith now is the time!!
Thanks,
Kenny Armstrong

Report: Smith River Steelhead
I fished the Smith today with one stick in the
boat and we went 6 for 8 with the Smith a
beautiful color of green. Our largest fish
went right around 10 lbs however, we saw quite a
few teener's caught and know of two 20 lbs fish
that made it to the net and were released.
The river is producing and there are fish
throughout the river which makes for an exciting
day of fishing!!
Thanks,
Kenny Armstrong

Report: Chetco River Steelhead
The river looked great again and fished almost
as well as yesterday. We went 8 for 10
today with the big fish coming in around 12 lbs
on roe and a fish pill. We were off the
water by 11:45am right as it began to
pour....not bad for half day of fishing!!
Looks like you can't lose on either the Chetco
or the Smith right now and I expect to see the
rivers continue to produce through the rest of
the season. If you have not booked your
trip yet do so now as this is turning out to be
one of the best steelhead seasons.
Thanks,
Kenny Armstrong

Report: Chetco River Steelhead
Today it was raining steelhead! Well, sort
of....we ended up with 19 fish on the day with
near perfect water conditions. Looks like
the Chetco will fish the whole week. The
Smith also fished very well I heard from several
guides they were also in the double digits.

Report: Smith River Steelhead
The river is at 11.3 & coming into great shape,
unfortunately rain is in the forecast. 2-4
INCHES IN THE NEXT 36 hours. This will most
likely hurt the fishing conditions on the Smith
for A day or to. I have had the last two days
off due to cancellations. The Smith is putting
out good #'s of fish still, I talked with John
Klar tonight & his customers landed for fish
today & 2 fish yester day. All the other rivers
up here on the coast are still blown & will
remain so until we get A good break in the
weather Book your steelhead trips before it is
to late. For my boat I have for Jan. the
19,25,28,29,30,& the 31 open.

The river dropped A foot in A 24 hour period &
was A glowing emerald Green this morning. Still
A little high but had great color. I had great
expectations for today but things just did not
go our way. Hooking 2 fish & landing them both
better than A zero I guess. I talked to some
other guides at the end of the day. So it seemed
that we did not to so bad with some boats
catching zero to 5 fish. I did here of A fish
that went 21lbs caught today. Book your
steelhead trips before it is to late. For my
boat I have for Jan. the 17,18,19,25,28,29,30,&
the 31 open.

Report: Smith River Steelhead
Hello folks ,were finally Steelhead fishing. The
river was at 12 .66 foot this morning & dropping
when we started & A little brown. How ever our
day turned out to be very good for conditions
hooking 6 fish landing 4. The river should even
fish better tomorrow. There were fish All over
the river but they were on the move. This made
the fish harder to catch. Not all the boats
faired as good as us.
Book your steelhead trips now! Before it's too
late.
